This upcoming 2019-2020 basketball season is going to be fun. Starting out 4-2, the Indians have a long way to go. We are looking to have a winning record and win a sectional. Last year, we had a depressing loss in the sectional semi finals because we can’t hit free throws. But this year is different. We have 5 returning varsity players, along with a 21-1 junior varsity squad. Junior, Noah Johnston had this to say about the start of the season and what he expects for the remainder, “We are winning a sectional this year. We all play really well together. Starting out 2-2 is tough but those teams are also tough to play against. We have a talented roster that is very deep. We are hoping for the best this season.”

In practice, everyone works really hard and it gets really competitive. In our first game against Winamac, we blew them out with a score of 73-35. Which probably wasn’t a good thing because we got ahead of ourselves and lost to Harrison 54-39. After not playing very well that game, the next game we really showed out against Benton Central with a win with the score of 49-38. This season, a couple of teams will be tough to beat. Teams like Kankakee Valley, Northwestern, West Lafayette, Central Catholic, and Western. But with pride, heart, and guts, we can beat them. Make sure you’re at all games to support!
