“She leaves a bit of sparkle everywhere she goes.” Mayah is a Junior at Twin Lakes and this is her first year at Twin Lakes, moving all the way from Tennessee. She is involved in colorguard in the Spirit of Twin Lakes marching band, Soundwave show choir and plans to do theatre once it starts up. “What motivates me is the drive to prove to myself that I can do better,”said McCarty, which will help her in her many activities. She has an appreciation for objects with sentimental meaning like clothes from relatives or things given to her by friends. Mayah is not one to steal the spotlight but she is someone who always seems to attract it. Mayah was part of her old school’s newspaper so she is familiar with the elements that the Tiogan staff has.
