Avery Shidler is a Junior at Twin Lakes High School with an interest in Music. Avery plays bass guitar for his local band The Seven Year Cicadas. This band, better known as the cicadas, is composed of Avery, his brother Jalen Shidler, and his two buddies Evan Vogel and Brandt Minnicus. Besides spending time with his bandmates Avery also tries to spend a lot of time with his hyperactive dog Ember, who is one of three other animals in the house. Although he spends a large amount of time with his pets he also has found time to practice some Buddhist teachings. Avery explains that we could all learn a little bit from Buddhism, not the religion but the practice. After high school Avery hopes to find a life of love and happiness while traveling the United States.
