Senior Vanessa Riese is spending most of her final year in high school working towards her future goal of becoming a dentist. When asked what she’s doing to help achieve this goal, Riese said, “This year I'm taking Physics, AP calc and anatomy.” Riese says, “I feel most confident in Algebra and science classes, I like the problem solving aspect. I would prefer Physics over Chemistry because I like math.” Riese also mentioned, “I think my confidence in math will help me with my future career because it's heavily math based.” Riese is also a part of the cheer team and has been since her freshman year. “I used to be a base, but now I'm a flyer. I like to fly more, because I think I'm better at it.” says Riese. When asked about her preferred classes she said, “I liked Algebra 2 over Algebra 1. Algebra 2 was easier because of my maturity level sophomore year versus eighth grade,” Riese says she wants to attend Purdue University and eventually IUPUI to major in dentistry. Riese says that she looks up to her dad because, “He’s also a dentist and teaches me a lot about going down that path. He also teaches me valuable life lessons.”
